It seems like ever since i got my toshiba 2tb drive it was always slow. I would always get annoyed and move the game to the ssd my friend who has only one hdd loads way faster than mine i try defragging takes abnormally long and i suspect it is about to kick the bucket What should i do?

This may be incorrect but I remember that in the bois there is hdd settings about something like enhanced to make hdd work properly but I thought there was a warning that changing it after you install it could impact the data. I would check the bois and follow recommendations from your motherboard manual and hard drive. Theres also sata hdd settings you might want to check. Some motherboards have old technology sata ports and only a few of the new ones.

Apples and Oranges comparisons here.
First a SSD by it mere design is SMALLER and FASTER than the 2TB Mechanical design, so yeah things will 'load way faster'.
Second, 2 TERAbytes of data is ALOT to 'defrag' (which hasn't really solved things in a decade, your thinking back with XP days) so YES will take a "abnormally long time" in comparison to other things.
Third "my friend has only one hdd loads way faster" is relative, is he running a i5 6xxx CPU on the current chipset while your poking along on your A-8 APU based PC? BIG DIFFERENCES here that has NOTHING to do with the HDD but does impact greatly "loads way faster".

Unless your friend has the EXACT same setup (every piece) and setup EXACTLY the same way as yours (configuration) and you sat with your watch and actually TIMED his system to yours, THEN you can make some of these claims and narrow down what to look into as 'the problem'. Otherwise it is just 'perception', and I would suggest what you should have, as you have a SSD, is the OS on the SSD, the games installed to the 2TB (as we all have setup) and if there is ONE or TWO specific games you want to see 'faster load screens' then plop them to the SSD.

REMEMBER a SSD SLOW DOWN MORE AND MORE it is FILLED UP. The closer you get to 100% full, the SLOWER it gets (even SLOWER than a HDD). So make sure your not filling up the SSD.

yes i know ssd is way faster than hdd and my friend is running fx8350/gtx 960. I am running i7 6700k and gtx 1070

I tested a couple of games xcom 2/ Metro last light They seem to load faster than they used too do.
