Some says, that its bad? It might harm the gpu? Im a total noob, I just want to know, will it run games smoothly on 720p with 60fps? Or will it not? What 1080p have to do with fps? It might be a lot better, but an ultra settings on 720p is good as well?

Or is it like if i set it on 1080p I'd get the fps i want
but on 720p i will get a lower fps? I dont get it, i want a detailed answer with reasons please.

I will be buying a 1080p screen soon, so thats that.

So, if I ran dragon age inquisition on 720p with this card, how much fps id get? Will it be able to make it to ultra?

Anf the sane question with 1080p

Solution
If you're not going to upgrade your monitor to 1080p or higher, get a weaker card, like the 960.
The 970 is 1.5 times more powerful than the 960, and 720p is 2.25 times less pixels than 1080p.
(That means if the 970 is getting 50 FPS in a game at 1920x1080, the 960 will get 75 FPS in the same game at 1280x720, assuming the CPU is able to handle 75 FPS).
So a 960 would be a much better use of your money at 720p than a 970 will.
What are the rest of the system specs? Pairing a massively powerful card like a GTX970 with weak CPU is going to result in a massive restriction (the CPU can't keep the card fed with data so the card spends a lot of its time waiting for the CPU to catch up).
And 720P is about 1/4 of the workload of 1080 BTW.

Your pc will have a much better time rendering at 720p than 1080 or 1440p.So yeah you can get 60 esily in 720p
