Hello,
I recently built a new computer and connected my old hard drive to copy files across to my new one. Both drives had Windows 7 installed and while staring up I had to select one to boot from. I have since removed my old hard drive but am still asked to select one to boot from even though there is now only one connected. How do I remove my old hard drive so that it will automatically boot from the new one?

What happens if you do not "Choose" the OS ? You have a 30 second wait, then the default OS boots correctly ?

Easy fix is to change the boot loader timeout value from 30 secs to say, 3 seconds (msconfig). That way you do not have to take chances of creating problems by changing your boot loader.

Thanks,
Unfortunately the one that's no longer connected is the top one or default OS, so I would imagine it would just loop that one. I really would just like get rid of it altogether if that's possible.

You could try msconfig to see if you can modify the boot loader.

Personally, I would reinstall again with just the one drive.
