What would be more interesting would be if a developer used the SC/SCII GUI to replace the GUI of the iPhone/Android. The mini map could be google maps / GPS system. The units could be the groups in your contacts like Work/Friends/Family/Enemies. you know.. something like that.

That's what I was thinking. This app might let you have eyes in two places at once!
Depending on what part of the interface is implemented, how it interacts with the game and meshes with the keyboard and mouse controls this could have the potential to be a nice ADDITION to the keyboard and mouse controls. Especially if it could help you to micro-manage a battle group to attend to low health units or special ability usage without interfering with your on-onscreen keyboard/mouse controls.
Yeah, I don't think that Blizzard would allow this, simply because they are trying to level the playing field. They have hotkeys in the game, but you're not allowed to change them. So I can see this idea getting shot down. However, I would like to note that this is a pretty sweet endeavor, and the app itself does look pretty cool!
And lol to all the "windows only" talk. I too found that ironic.
