Hello,

I have a question related to Purchase Advisory - asking for advice what and where to buy according to described situation. I assume and hope this kind of topic is allowed on this forum.

I'm looking for solution, a device, for web conference meetings and VOIP web phone calls.

Sound must obviously be outgoing (attendees of the meeting or person answering web phone call must hear me) AND incoming (i must hear others). On the top of that, I would also like to have a video feature (camera) in the same device which should be somehow portable, meaning small size so I can carry it with me, e.g. in some bag wherever I go. I'm referring to device for web conference desktop Windows applications like Zoom, Teams, Skype, Google Meet, etc. as well as VOIP phone call applications like Bria, Skype, etc. There are probably many devices on the market like that on e.g. Amazon, Ebay, etc. but a need described in my next paragraph makes my research for a product by far more complex.

The device itself should be with USB cable. Device (outgoing sound) must be able to be placed on the table in front of me because I don't want to have it on my head. The most complex requirement I have is with incoming sound which I expect to be usage combination so the device that would fit both style of usage: I would like to hear others in the device while it is in front of me, or alternatively if I have to restrict myself for lower volume of incoming sound, I would like to be able to use an earphone: directly inside the ear without anything on the head. Does a solution like that for Windows 10 exist? So I could choose the usage style according to situation when it comes to incoming sound: Sometimes I would like to listen to others while having the device in front of me, e.g. on the table, but sometimes when I can't afford to have loud volume, the sound from others would come via earphone instead of expanded in the 3D room.

Regarding outgoing sound (microphone on device on the table): It would be great if it can perfectly catch my lower volume speech too because I don't speak loud but more quietly and I still need others to perfectly hear me.

Could anyone advise me what to buy? I have Windows (10) OS.

Thank you in advance!

Conference call speakerphone perhaps?

https://www.amazon.com/usb-speakerphone/s?k=usb+speakerphone

Google "conference call USB devices".

Take a look at the results/products and revise the search criteria as necessary for your device requirements.

Thank you for your response. I had seen this but the incoming sound seems to be just one option: directly on the device only while it is located on some surface (e.g. table). While what I'm looking for is ''hybrid'' so sometimes I could also have the earphone directly in ear if I have to make the conference more quiet instead of incoming sound to be expended in the 3D room or outdoor.

we use this in our conference room LINK If you right click your sound control in the bottom right of your screen and go to sound, you can then set the default speaker.

Under playback you can ether select the speaker so everyone can hear or headphones if you only want to hear. You can do the same for the mic as well under the recording tab. If you headphones has a mic select that or use the conference speakerphone or if your camera has a mic

Our conference room defaults to the speaker when plugged in for sound and mic, if unplugged it will default to the camera mic and speaker on the projector.

Per @faalin

"Our conference room defaults to the speaker when plugged in for sound and mic, if unplugged it will default to the camera mic and speaker on the projector."

Consider an inline switch to "unplug" the mic and speaker if physically plugging and unplugging the speaker is not acceptable.

There are many product options available.

They only issue is there is a wall plate that has an HDMI, USB-c, 2 usb 2.0, ethernet, and aux port on the wall. we then use a usb-c extension cable to plug the conference speakerphone in and set it in the middle of the table.

90% of the time we dont need the speaker so it would just be a trip hazard, so its just a rule that if you're done using it you pack everything back up and put it in the cabinet for storage.

Would you suggest anything please with integrated video so I wouldn't need to have camera as separated device?

I don't have this bottom that you are referring to but even if I had, I still need device's earphone which means I would need to buy belonging earphone too. It's fine if I always have outgoing sound on some surface so I don't need to carry anything on the head. Microphone is expected to be quality because I don't speak loud and I can't always be too close to the device. However, it's bigger problem for incoming sound because I would like to have it either in the ear or on the surface from the device's speaker so both features in the same device (plus video).

link here are webcams with speaker and mic's. I havent heard of any of the brands so no idea of the video or audio quality.

If you are using a windows operating system the speaker down in the bottom right that you use to adjust your volume, if you right click on it and go into sounds you can setup default devices for sound and recording. If you are using a mac or linux OS then im not sure.

I had seen many of those products before posting my question here but I need ''hybrid usage'' of incoming sound: either in a way of having the device on the surface in front of me (if I can afford to have loud incoming volume) or having the earphone of incoming sound in ear. We are talking about device capabilities and nothing to do with taskbar in windows os. One idea could be to just keep an eye of the products with earphone on attached photos but in this case I risk that there is no ''surface'' usage, meaning that I can have device in front of me and have incoming sound there, without any earphone. I'm not sure how exactly should I clarify this in some further details what I'm looking for to be more understandable.
