Device manager shows my 2nd internal hard drive but it's not recognized by my computer

Is its a SATA drive, download and install the latest SATA controller driver for your motherboard. If its an old PATA drive, make sure you set the jumper to slave the second hard drive.
 
1. Just to confirm...that HDD is listed in the "Disk drives" section of Device Manager? And, of course, the HDD is detected in the BIOS, right?

2. What's the make/model/capacity of that HDD?

3. Have you ever used that HDD before with no problem? Or is it new?

4. Do you happen to know the make/model of your motherboard?

5. Tell us precisely how you've connected the HDD to the motherboard's SATA port.

sounds like it lost its letter assignment.
Go to disk manager (start type : diskmgmt.msc in the search and hit enter) in the list you'll see your drives. does it show up as having a partition or bieng blank? if it has a partition does it have a letter assignment, ex. c: d: etc? if it does not have a letter assignment you will need to assign it one. right click on the partition and you should see assign drive letter, or similar.
