device not ready

Hi, i´m trying to backup a vm to a Toshiba Canvio Connect II 2TB, but after more than 20 hours running i got the message "device is not ready" and stops the backup, anyone knows why this happens?

I'd recommend you to try uninstalling and reinstalling the external HDD as a device from Device Manager. Once you have removed the drivers for this external hard drive and rebooted the system, when you plug it back in, it should detect the 'new' hardware and install it automatically as a device.

If that doesn't help, I'd suggest you update the USB drivers for your computer manually from the motherboard/PC manufacturer's website.
