Hello!
I have an old computer with a DFI LanParty UT nF4 SLI-DR motherboard, with 4 x 1GB RAM (DDR1) memory modules (identicals, Mushkin redline). I really need more RAM memory and, before buying 4 x 2GB, I am curious if my motherboard could be "forced" to see 8 GB RAM as long as in the specs is written "max. 4GB RAM memory".
Even now my comp (win7 64-bit) can "see" only 3,12 GO RAM instead of 4. In "System" is written 4 GO installed and 3,12 usable. I have the last BIOS available on DFI site.
Supposing I would like to not change my computer, is there any possibility to force my motherboard to recognize 8 GB RAM?
Thank you!

Your welcome, but my point was the maximum memory your motherboard will allow is 4GB of RAM. It has nothing to do with what operating system you install (the gist of my comment). Only a BIOS upgrade (which is not available) would change the 4GB limit your motherboard has.
