DFLW Supply Cabinets?

Probably a simp question but I am new to DF. At some point in the LW
campaigns the communicator says to "Use enemy supply cabinets if necessary".
Nothing I do seems to put them to use. Is this possible, or what is meant by
that announcement?

walk up to them and hit your commander's key (i think default is "C")\

check your controls setup incase you have remapped it.

You enter the Amory building or walk up close to and facing a supply cabinet
then you hit "C" on your keyboard which respresents the "Command Prompt." It
usually opens to weapons selections however if not select the tab at the top
to choose weapons, then you can scroll and change weapons or just refresh
your ammo supply with your current weapon as well as grenades and such. You
must click near the bottom center on the button to request weapons before
they will update.
