DG965RY + Q6700

Hello,

Would it be wise to run the DG965RY m/b with the Q6700 cpu or the QX6850 new extreme edition CPUs.Do let me know your feedback and any other comments - so that I can decide on buying the CPU.


I have a DG965RY , DDR2 533 MHz 2GB RAM, PNY Technologies7300 GS Nvidia chipset, 500W PSU , DVD RAM x 2, Hitachi 750 GB SATA,Seagate 250 GB Sata

Neither is listed as supported by that MB; I'd check with Intel before trying to use one on that MB.

Hello All,
I successfully upgraded my PC to a quad core 2.4 SLACR G0 CPU , running on the DG965 RY. everything seems fine. Sissoft tests showed that the mobo does good at times compared to the older xbx intyel variant and sometimes it clocks a bit less..But I am happy since I have leased a new breath of life to my slow system. ....just goes out to prove that ...maybe other than marketing tricks there is really not a lot of deltas between upcoming chipset variants and the already existant variants...except for some more additional functionality.
