Just like in real life ^_^ Now everything is worthless. Yayyy.
Oh you don't believe me? Watch that episode of Ducktales where Gizmo creates a duplicator and creates so much money that ice cream and other neat goods costs thousands and thousands of dollars and huge mayhem breaks loose. You're welcome~ ^^

It would be funny that in some sort of twisted Scooby-Doo-esque type of irony, Blizzard actually placed this bug on purpose to eventually excuse itself to shut down the auction houses... permanently. Well, one could wish anyways...

I know you didn't just say "just like in real life" about a game, then reference an episode of ducktales as your example for "real life".....

doesn't surprise me, hackers took down origin/ EA yesterday, i found this out when installed BF3 and was trying to play the game after 30 minutes with help desk in complete denial mode until i showed them the message saying BF3 server are offline due to major hack attack.
i promptly deleted any trace of the game and made help desk wipe out my account, my birthday gift now sits at the bottom of a trash can.
i was most upset even tho they had upgraded me to veteran status which i inquired about and meant i had to unlock skills and weapons which sent me right from 0 to wanting to go postal all over any one at Origin and EA.

Hello,
The current Battlefield 3 outages are a result of activity that appears to be aimed at overwhelming our back-end infrastructure. We are working on a variety of solutions to address this problem and are focused on resolution as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your patience and support.
Moving forward, we will provide the most up to date information to the community here. We are incredibly disappointed by these activities and the impact they are having on all of our ability to enjoy BF3, thank you for your patience as we work to resolve these issues.

Despite our security measures, we have been working around the clock to mitigate the impact of an ongoing denial-of-service attack on our Battlefield 3 game infrastructure over the last several days. While the motives are unclear, the focus of the attack has been interference with network communications preventing access to multiplayer gameplay. At this point, no user data is involved. We share your frustration about the impact this has had to our service and the ability for many of you to play Battlefield 3. We are working tirelessly to mitigate the problem.
As a part of our efforts to resolve these issues, we’ve conducted rolling restarts of Battlefield infrastructure servers to apply some updates. Thank you for your patience and support while we work to get everyone back and playing Battlefield 3 as soon as possible. More updates to come.

Why on earth would you throw out a game/delete an account because of a DDOS attack that in no way involved you or your computer? And you always have to level up your player... That's part of this genre of games

im sorry but if that's your attitude you better delete all your accounts and never go online again. Anything can get DDOSed and all it is is a minor inconvenience.

Give the guy some credit. How many people do you that can reference Duck Tales?!?!?!!?

WOOSH!!!

That's the sound of the sarcasm ( directed at the guy who freaked out and threw out BF3 because the servers were briefly DDOSed ) going right over your head.

That show how little consideration you have for people who made the gift!
If you are so full of money and don`t need that game, why not donate it to some less fortunate folks?
If this is what you do in case of DDoS, what will you do when they hack the servers and stole all info stored there... slash your veins?
PLAIN AND SIMPLE: YOU ARE AN IDIOT !

Blizzard finally learning how greed got the best of them, turned them from game developers to wannabe bankers. There's nothing wrong with making money from video game sales, but everything's wrong with forcing your customers into buying exchange-traded virtual items to supplement the little bit of fun they're trying to have with gut-wrenching feelings of playing with real money.
Screw you Blizzard, never again!

I don't get why people DDOS targets like this when they don't like a game. The people who are actually playing on there want to be playing the game - no-one is holding a guns to their heads and they are actively passing by other games to be playing the one in question. When the servers are crashed like this you in part hurt the companies, but even more, you prevent people who want to be playing the game from doing so. I would *hope* that isn't their goal, but...

If you don't like a game or how a company is acting, move on. Things like this just prevent the people who play these games/use these services from using them, and go figure, they like these games/services. Why stop them from using them, just because you don't like a company?
