I have been trying hard not to comment on Diablo 3 news for awhile now but I remember SOOO much talk about how all ways on internet would stop so much hacking , I realize this has nothing to do with that but there was people farming treasure chests, using the same account on two servers, boting , item dupping and now this? I quit because the one thing I thought might be fun selling my loot for real money got so buggered up I don't trust it now. I am not knocking the game play but as a piece of software and as a lunch it was a big fail * keep in mind I am not talking about how much money they made just the very long list of in some cases near game breaking issues , having people be able to farm with out dieing in a game thats about farming and you can sell your loot for real money is kinda a HUGE issue*

And how much money has farmers made using this exploit to farm gear for the RMAH?

At this point D3 is looking like an amusement park for people who want to hack and exploit and make money but a disaster for anyone who just wants to play and enjoy a game.

Always-on and server-side game logic allow for game developers to perform basic sanity checks that can't be trusted when running on the client. If they choose not to perform basic sanity checks then they lose all advantage and this crap starts happening.

This kind of thing obviates any claim by Blizzard that "always-online" is to prevent cheating, or is somehow necessary to maintain the "integrity" of the game experience.
None of this would be a problem if the game could be played, start to finish, offline. You want my money, Blizzard? You know what you need to do.

Being able to beat the game without the consequence of dying I would not call fun. What's the point in playing at all then? Farm stuff and don't die? Nice, waste more of your life....

Always-on and server-side game logic allow for game developers to implement basic sanity checks that can't be trusted when they come from a client. If Blizzard got lazy and choose not to implement these basic checks then they lost any advantage that they may have gained by moving the game to entirely online.

DRM was designed to prevent this kind of thing (cheating). Now gold farmers will be exploiting this, thus screwing the whole balance in the RMAH. Blizzard fails

Lmao it's a little hard to take this serious. Imagine for a moment that D3 was made by an independent developer and take all the hubbubb about online only play. You would think the game is amazing because it is. Sure it didn't deliver everything, especially any PvP or end game content. But this game gets knocked hard for too much.

Well apparently you cared enough to use two IDs to post the same comment.

Some people find that to be more fun. For some it's about struggling through the game to feel that they accomplished something. For others it is about escaping into a fantasy.

I play these types of games for the fantasy aspect. My fantasy is to be the hero womping through bad guys. So for RPG games I like to have savegame editors, cheat consoles or at least trainers. I can't be alone in this or else super hero movies, James Bond and other traditional action movies would not be so popular. Although I don't go too overboard as that can make it boring a good balance is where you crush the minions but bosses give a good fight as in almost any hero movie. These developers forget that and alienate lots of potential buyers.

I understand the need for an MMO to not allow cheating as that would ruin the game for all the non cheaters. For a game that does single and multi-player this is ridiculous. They should have just made an online and offline mode. Nothing you gain offline can be used online. Then the problem is solved. People can play offline in single player mode or multiplayer LAN parties or a separate online function for the auction house and challenging players across the world for elite status.

Besides the auction house is cheating It's just you need to pay money to cheat and get items you did not earn in game rather than enter a code. So Blizzard is okay with cheating as long as they make money.

Other games I play for the challenge so I don't use codes as that would ruin the experience. Mainly this goes for simulators (flight, racing, sports), puzzles and side scrollers.

What i was lookin for in Diablo 3 but never got...

1. Crafting ... not fun at all they dint put any thoughts into it there is no variety.
The last game that i played Lotro had so much to it.

2. Combat ... Ill give points to the combat/skills in the game. It has good combat. But again
lacks variety

3. PvP ... No pvp yet and by the time it shows up i think ill be already be playing other
games, already a bit bored with diablo 3. Anyways I dont last with a game for
more then 6 months. The PvP will be so limited in this game and I am sure of
it.

4. Fun ... Really no fun playing now.Played Lotro , DnD online, Gw1 still its fun to play if i
load up any of those games even after having played each for more than 5-6
months,

5. Guild ... NOT AT ALL THERE.. how ignorant of Blizzard.

6. Content ... There is so less content. Maps are tiny. With each difficulty they should have
increased the size of the maps e.g inferno should have had 4x larger
dungeons..

7. Group Play ...Even now my friends say they are better off not playing in group. So its not at
all there. If they had guild not just friends list i m sure there would have been
more people playing in groups. how myopic of blizz.

8. Scaryness ... I dont even want to eleborate on this.

What i got from Diablo 3

1. "only hype"
2. a nerfed wow clone crappy game in 2012
3. nerf nerf nerf and now they planning to nerf mf ...

I am unhappy again :S

PS : how did the reviewers gave so high score to this game they should now do a re-review and it should be less then 4/10 !!! It got a pass just because its name is "Diablo".. No way this is Diablo.

lol, they finally figured this one out? If they hotfix, Ill have to use my DH to exploit! (same thing, btw)

Just a note - this, specifically, has nothing to do with DRM or being "online only". This was a bug in the game, the players found out it existed and exploited it to the fullest. It wasn't a hack, it wasn't a modification of any kind - just a sequence of inputs that caused the game to glitch out. I'm pretty sure it's a violation of the ToS - something in regards to intentionally abusing an exploit to gain an advantage in the game. However this would seem to be difficult to prosecute. Plus, Blizzard wasn't hurt financially by this, they made money on every tainted transaction that would have resulted from exploited farming. There are also dupe hacks and bots plaguing the system. That is where DRM is failing and it's adversely impacting the economy, and subsequently the player-base. If you ask a lot of players (or those that walked away after the last patch) this little Wizard snafu was the most fun they've had with the game... ever.

This Wizard God Mode was documented as far back as early June, but nobody knows if that's where it really started, that's just when it surfaced in a public forum (youtube). This may have existed from as far back as launch. Which would mean there could be a small, or large population out there that knew of this in secrecy for quite some time and potentially profited greatly.

Who's ready for Torchlight 2?

You know this would hardly be a big deal if the real money auction house didn't exist. But let's face it why not abuse this exploit if you can make money off of it? I am sure there are countless players item farming right now due to this. Is there any defense left for Blizzard?
