Blizzard got butthurt when they said Diablo is simply "too hard". Now all they do is remove this, nerf that, ban that guy, increase cost, make the game experience miserable for everyone, & encourage RMAH. So that one day, they can come back and say it again - Diablo was and still is too hard.

all games have glitches and exploits. developers can release patches (oblivion ...) or fans can make fixpacks (baldur's-gate-2 ...) or players can simply choose not to 'cheeze'. it is stupid for developer to micro-manage so much like a mommy coach. inv is a boon you say? fine, let the players finish the game quick & easy; it's player's own loss if he's bypassing the whole gameplay experience. or if the game is crazy hard, let them cheat. i would want to at least see a game's ending that I couldn't finish and just gave up on at some point. (contra, mega-man ...)

[citation][nom]Pinhedd[/nom]Always-on and server-side game logic allow for game developers to perform basic sanity checks that can't be trusted when running on the client. If they choose not to perform basic sanity checks then they lose all advantage and this crap starts happening.[/citation]

This game is NOT MacOS........

[citation][nom]pezonator[/nom]Being able to beat the game without the consequence of dying I would not call fun. What's the point in playing at all then? Farm stuff and don't die? Nice, waste more of your life....[/citation]

Somehow that seems similar to a job.

[citation][nom]wildkitten[/nom]And how much money has farmers made using this exploit to farm gear for the RMAH?At this point D3 is looking like an amusement park for people who want to hack and exploit and make money but a disaster for anyone who just wants to play and enjoy a game.[/citation]
I have a wizard and played like this for about 30 minutes. As usual, I got absolutely nothing. Total junk, level 51 to 60 blues and yellows that weren't worth their vendor value on AH, and that was Act 3 inferno. I seriously doubt people got tons of awesome loot. Remember the game is a grind to begin with, so a few hours of invulnerability isn't going to make much of a difference in what they get.

People were throwing on all the magic find gear they could find, dropping their dps horribly. It took them forever to kill elite groups this way, reducing their chances at loot from the start.

I have skipped all the news and avoided posting about d3. Well Here it is.. I am shocked that a game that took soooooo long to release has more holes in it than swish cheese... I might pick up this mess of a game when it is on sale for like 15 bucks.. Till then enjoy a game that should have been fixed in the beta days....

IDK while there are several aspects of Diablo 3 that I am disappointed about I can say

I am having a blast playing it solo only and never using the AH. I only play an average of 4-6 hours per week and I take my time uncovering every millimeter of the world and listening/reading all of the lore. Im only in late Act III normal mode but its getting much much better as I go along. Act I and II were painfully easy without huge mob battles but its starting to pick up a little in Act III.

I dont know if I am lucky or if Blizzard increased the drop rate but the last week or so I have been averaging about 4-6 rare drops per session. I have still only ever had 1 legendary drop and have yet to see a set item.

I dont understand the idiocy behind logic of set item drops. Why do the moronic devs make set item drops so rare you will never be able to use a set? Whats the f'ing point of having set items in the game if no one will ever be able to get one? STUPID

[citation][nom]NuclearShadow[/nom]You know this would hardly be a big deal if the real money auction house didn't exist. But let's face it why not abuse this exploit if you can make money off of it? I am sure there are countless players item farming right now due to this. Is there any defense left for Blizzard?[/citation]

That's the real point of this article, and the main issue with the exploit.

No RMAH, no big deal.

Yeah, but only idiots at this point would spend real money on a game that's tanking so bad, what's the point? There is literally, no point other than an E-peen and we all know how worthless that is. (unless your R-peen is so small that you have to resort to this kind of bragging rights on a game)

I mean really, I guess if you value money that horribly then so be it let them be morons, we can't cure stupid sadly. All we can cure is stop playing this POS game.

side note, I'd like to know the selling figures of the game after the so called "Fastest selling pc game ever statement" Now I bet it "sells less copies than Postal 3. (a game with a 24 meta critic, yeah I think D3 is THAT bad.)

@cknobman : They want you to use the auction house. Plain and simple. You don't have any more gold? That's okay : you can have that set for only 2 to 10 bucks!

I've had mixed feelings with the game since initial launch. I try to be rational and play the game Blizzard wants me to play... but it doesn't quite cut it. The game is too short, the story is a copy-paste of the first 2 games, the drops are inexistant, items are repetitive, crafting is a (bad) joke, graphics are weak, the ambiance is not scary at all... At least, to be honest, the classes and skills are great. But, what's the point if the game in which we get to play them suck?

With all that said, I'll still play until something better comes along, or until I go out of my mind, whichever comes first...

"Is there any defense left for Blizzard?"

"You know, in certain older civilized cultures, when men failed as entirely as you have, they would throw themselves on their swords. " (from Serenity)

Unfortunately, Blizzard no longer has honor, or respect for the customer, that's why they delivered an unfinished overpriced product, lacking in quality on every aspect that made D2 so great.
I don't think they'd even consider giving the customers their money back with or without apologies for having screwed them - and this is what would take to redeem themselves.

Any game that tries to incorporate Real Money should just be avoided, its nothing more than a cash cow. As soon as the RMAH went up I stopped playing, there should be a law that prevents a game from allowing people to spend money on virtual shit that serves no purpose. Until the game gets patched to have offline mode with proper drop rates (not holding my breath) I'm not playing this anymore, its far too insulting to even attempt to play this craptastic release from Blizzard any more. And I don't even want to get started with this Wizard exploit. I've said it before and I'll say it again F&%K You Blizzard, you greedy money grabbing bunched of whores. I wish I could sue their asses for the time I lost to this game.

That's a bingo!

...is that the expression?...

[citation][nom]chazbeaver[/nom]Yeah, game bugs are NOT something that DRM is meant to prevent.[/citation]
Yeah, it doesn't make any difference why the DRM exists. Exploits like this is why there should not be a developer sanctioned RMAH, especially one where the developer makes money off it.

With Activision Blizzard making money off transactions, is it not in their financial best interest to actually ALLOW these exploits to be used? I mean this obviously can be used to farm more gear, gear which then can be placed on the RMAH thus allowing more money to be made by ActiBlizz from their cut.

Problem is it's not that people are just running through the game and beating it, but the reason D3 got DRM in the first place was so that the RMAH didn't get filled with items acquired through duplication or cheats performed in the offline play D3 could've had. Then we see things like this exploit and you start to realize how much of a giant fail having DRM has been. People exploited this to acquire millions in gold and farmed rare items that are now being sold in the RMAH. They can't justify having DRM anymore when the very same things they wanted to stop are happening just as easy.

I love this God mod hack! Play Inferno and you level up fast and get ton of gold and rare items. Just remember to offload it to your other accounts for safety and make it look like an official trade with a random stranger. :)

I can't wait to offload my loot to some loser that's willing to pay realmoney for it. LOL!!!!

You seem to miss the point. You are looking at it from the viewpoint of a legitimate gamer. I am talking about farmers. People who will use hundreds of accounts possibly using this exploit, not to play and enjoy the game, but in an attempt to make money through the RMAH.

You switch to MF gear right before killing the mob. If people were throwing on all the MF gear they could find and taking forever to kill mobs then they're awful at D3 and that's why they'll never find a lot of rares or make good money.

Saying this exploit doesn't help kill elites faster is the most idiotic thing I've heard. You don't need to worry about survivability at all with it so you can spend 5m on pure dps gear, 10m tops (all that's really needed) and then just walk through the levels finding elites. You don't even have to bother with regular enemies. And like I said it makes switching to MF gear easier too. It speeds up elite killing a ton and you don't have to spend hardly on gold on gear either.

For those who have known about the past month or more.. I envy you. Cause man.. with this exploit I could've made thousands more than I've already made.

My point was that good shit has terrible drop rates to begin with. I only played for 30 minutes, enough to get 5 stacks and kill a few elite groups along with a boss. I got nothing worth selling at all, which is the norm for this game.

Even if you could have exploited it with a single wizard, I doubt you'd have gotten more than one or two items worth selling.

Somebody above made a good point about using dozens of accounts with bots and such, and that is pretty much the only thing to worry about imo.

A friend of mine took advantage of the bug for more than half the day, and got absolutely nothing worthwhile. Perhaps a few items for 250k tops.
