So I've been experiencing issues where my custom gaming rig is acting up strangely. For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out what the issue is. Here's the build:
MOBO: Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3
GPU: Geforce GTX 770
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw 8GB DDR3
PSU: ANTEC HCG-900
So what's happening is that in games like League of Legends and Marvel Heroes, the computer will completely shut down at random. When I'm playing games like Final Fantasy 14 on max settings, it plays normally but there are periods stuttering (may or may not be related to the same issue.)
I've been getting this for a while and I've upgraded every part of the rig with the above products except the CPU at this point. I've updated the BIOS, the MOBO drivers, the GPU drivers, run CHKDSK, ran SpeedFan to check for overheating (saw CPU was getting hot and so I got a more spacious case, reorganized wiring, cleaned out the cooler for the CPU which had a lot of dust in it) which has helped with the overheating but I'm still getting these random crashes.
Does anyone have any other ideas of what the issue may be? I can't think of anything else to try to do to pinpoint what is causing this.
Please let me know if you need me to test something or provide further information!
Thank you!
