Question Diagnosing Win11 frequent Black Screens

I am trying to help my friend with his PC, which runs smoothly on restart until you try to run programs, sometimes I can get into a game a run benchmark or play it for a few minutes before black screen and game closes completely. Also blackscreens during webbrowsing, particularly Youtube, but it doesnt close the browser. When it does, other open folders stay black until you move the cursor over them.

The system in question is a 12600k on an Asus Z690-P WIFI D4 with 2 16 gb sticks of Trident Royal DDR4 4000 and a 980ti
Running newest Windows 11 and Nvidia Drivers. I would be grateful for any tips on getting to the bottom of this.
