I've found two versions of this monitor, the 2070SB and the 2070u. I guessed SB stands for SuperBright, but I thought the 2070u *was* the 2060u with SuperBright? Can anyone help me out here? I want to get the best image quality, so which should I order? The 2070u or the 2070SB?

I was also considering the Vision Master Pro 512, but from what I've read, the 2060/2070 series offers superior image quality. Anyone beg to differ? I like high refresh rates in high resolutions, and from what I've read, both monitors offer 100Hz+ at 1600x1020.

As far as I know, there is no 2070u.

diamond pros are reknown in graphics community and is the only monitor other than apple that is sold at apple stores (yeah macs suck overall but there monitors are quite good). I have a 2060u and it's very sharp corner to corner and geometrically perfect even at 1600x1200@100hz though I can't compare to iiyamas which I've never seen. displaymate adwarded the 2060u as best hardware alongside the gdmf520. pcworld and toms hardware gave the 2060u highest ratings. some compaq model which is deritive of the 2060u is also very highly rated. the 2070sb-bk and the nec twin (can't remember model) won best of macworld 2002.

If you've got the dough, check of gdmf520 and eizof980 as well. These are highly rated as well.

Quality is better than name brand, even regarding beloved AMD.

These are all top monitors. The Sony CPD-G520 is another one too. Sony has it refurbished for $499 shipped.

Mitsubishi 2070SB(-BK) has the same tube as the NEC FE2111SB(-BK)
