Diamond VC500 capture card - freezes under Windows 7

I'm using the Diamond VC500 capture card under Windows 7 (64bit) to capture some old VHS tapes. Got the latest drivers installed just fine and I've got EZ Grabber working. But I never make it all the way through a capture session without it freezing. I've tried it about 5 or 6 times, and it always freezes at some point. And when it freezes it locks up the entire computer, so much so that the only option is to hold the Power button down.

Computer is a Dell M5110 laptop, and OS is Windows 7 64-bit.

What are your full system specs? This could easily be an issue related to older software or drivers that are conflicting with the drivers for your capture hardware, and not the capture hardware drivers themselves. It could also be faulty hardware.
