did an inplace upgrade but...

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.setup (More info?)

According to article 306952 an inplace upgrade...
Rolls back any hotfixes, service packs, and Microsoft Internet Explorer
upgrades to their base versions.

However... I went to windowsupdate and there was nothing to update. All the
hotfixes are still in add/remove programs. I do delete all the $Uninstall
folders from winnt on regular basis.
