Did I break my new gaming rig by downloading the newest nvidia driver?

All I get is the Windows 8.1 splash screen: a logo and the loading circle. This is after I restarted it after installing the brand new NVIDIA driver. I can't get into the BIOS and I can't log in. My keyboard doesn't work.

I can't return my $2000 rig because I bought the parts from Amazon which doesn't allow returns after the box has been opened. I can't do anything.

I've returned parts all the time. It sounds like a motherboard issue so go to the MSI website and register the motherboard if you haven't and put in a RMA request. I'm not sure how long you've had it or if it ever worked. If it is brand new and you've had it less then a week put down that it was DOA (dead on arrival) and request and exchange with a new unit. Otherwise you will get a refurbished/Repaired model. Good luck!

Are you able to boot into safe mode?
In safe mode most drivers aren't loaded. It loads only a basic,y so your nvidia driver isn't startet. If that works atleast your installation isn't corrupted and the hardware might be fine.
