stopped selling them. The next day they started to sell the new 3000.

not sure where you are looking, but i see the 2400 still listed for sale
on-line in the home division, the small business division, the medium &
large business division, and the government, education and healthcare
division. perhaps you are just looking at the 'recommended' systems, the
ones that they are pushing for some reason (probably because they are the
most profitable or they have excess capacity they are looking to fill). the
2400 is a perfectly good machine, and possibly a great buy if you happened
upon a good promotion. however, given regular pricing the extra $30 for the
dimension 3000 is worth the faster bus speed that it comes with in my
estimation. but don't fret, you have 21 days from the invoice date from
which to decide if you want to return it.

The 2400 is still available on Dell's website, it's just a tad harder to

Every time I check out the Dell web site the specs for the 2400 are always
changing. One week it comes with a Celeron CPU, the next weeks it comes
with a P4, the week after it changes again. And then the amount of RAM
changes too. Along with hard disk, and other stuff. What's up with
this?. I guess I lucked out by getting a P4 2.8. But in the RAM area I
didn't get lucky. I only got 256MB. For the hard drive I got an 80BG. I'm
glad I didn't get stuck with a 40GB. And the price changes also.

there just dell offers. they change every week. you might see a dell 4600 with
a intel pentium 4 2.6 ghz with 128mb ram, 20gb hard drive 17 crt monitor all
for $799 then the next week they might have a dell 4600 with a intel pentium 4
3.2 ghz, 512 mb ram, 80gb hard drive, and a 17 lcd monitor all for $699 after
$50 mail in rebate. no matter what computer you get there will always be other
offers on them every week.

I get a Dell catalog in the mail every month. The Septemer issue was
the last time they advertised the 2400 and 4600/4600C. (I have a 4600)
Now, they advertise the 3000, 4700/4700C, 8400 and XPS. I do
occasionly see ads for 2400 and 4600 on the internet and on TV
comnmericials. They say all Dells come with the Intel Celeron
procesor.

I am not sure why you keep saying incorrect things. Clearly ALL Dells do not
come with Celerons.
