I was downloading a file to my USB HDD then suddenly my computer froze..so I hit the restart button...I know that the file I was downloading gets corrupted and I have to download it again...but how about other files on the USB drive ? Do they get corrupted too ?

I also ran the following after:

Code:
chkdsk g: /r

and it found no errors... here is the results: https://pastebin.com/pRcD6rVP

Solution
The most common cause of an external drive/USB stick losing data is to shut it off during a write, which will corrupt the MBR. You can try recovery software such as EaseUS or partition repair software but results vary.
