Did I Downgrade?

Hello I just built my new computer and I'm thinking that I might've downgraded. The FPS of my last computer are better than my new.

Old Specs:
FX 8320 4.5 GHZ Oc
16 GB Patriot Viper 1866 MHZ Ram
HD 7970 3 GB

New Specs:
Intel i7 4770k 4.2 GHZ Oc
16 GB Patriot Viper 1866 MHZ Ram
Gtx 770 2 GB

Some of the games I play are Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, Battlefield 4, League of Legends, Arma3, Trine 2.

So did I downgrade from my system?

You lost VRAM which in Triple A games Crysis 3. Other then that you shouldn't a difference. Why did you "upgrade" in the first place?

I don't think so - I like the 770. Great vidcard.
There's a lot of FPS to be found in the nVidia Control Panel. I just use the Global Settings for everything (not using individual settings for each game) and my Global Settings are set for High Performance.
Go through your Control Panel and make sure everything is set to either High Performance or Application Controlled.
There are a lot of driver optimizations in there that will offer you more performance, and you will not notice any loss of quality.
Also - you can use nVidia Active VSync now! Woohoo...
If your frames stay above 60 FPS it will enable VSync, but if they fall below it will disable Vsync - all on-the-fly. It's a great thing.
Get real comfy in those Global Settings (no more CCC for you)...
And you will always enjoy the whole no-hassle nVidia experience. They treat you good and WHQL drivers are solid.
Note: Beware the nVidia automatic thing they try to install, which will set you up for 40 FPS (Average) framerates.
This is inadequate for a Vsynced game, as you require an average of 60 FPS+ and minimum FPS of ideally at least 50 or so...
But a big factor is the nVidia Control Panel Global settings.

At 4.5Ghz the FX 8320 in gaming is roughly equal to your new processor at stock. So you upgraded the CPU for sure.

You also slightly upgraded the GPU but not enough to make the upgrade cost effective. As you can see here Tom's lists the 7970 and GTX 770 in the same tier.

I have been saying for a while the FX 8300 parts are underrated gaming chips. Especially if you stream. Website tester,s by their own admission, cherry pick situations which pressure the cpu in ways that are not necessarily necessarily representative of real world gaming.

Lets keep the fanboy disinformation to a minimum please. The truth of the matter is most games are GPU bound and as long as you have a modern multicore processor the GPU is the limiting factor. However in processor biased games Intel runs away and hides. Even overclocked to the maximum AMD can't keep up and the sad truth is the chips have to be overclocked to compete with Intel at stock.

AMD themselves have given up trying to compete. There are no CPUs on their future roadmap only APUs where they have a huge advantage.

AMD could kick of next year with a good line of APU. Might get more performance and set a new standard

AMD is focusing on APU's because that's their mainstream product. Mainstream as in 90 percent of the pc market. Like it or not, enthustiasts are a niche market.

I suspect higher end parts will follow once the steamrollers initial bugs are addressed. That's what they should have done with Barcelona and Bulldozer.

A 4570 is only 40 dollars more. Not that more. Thought to be real it won't be that much different. 60 dollars more, and you'll see a difference from the 4670K
