Well i have a question for all. I recently bought graphics card R9 270x MSI Gaming Edition.
And i think i may have been expecting to much from it. On battlefield 4 i have to play at HIGH settings only MESH and Texture at ULTRA .MSAA off,AA off,HBAO off. And sometimes i even get under 40 fps. I mean its good. I have solid 60s all time. But it drops from time to time.

And the game is almost unplayable at all ULTRA with last 3 settings off. If i maxed out. Its unplayable. I have i7 930 procesor - turbo enabled. So 2.9ghz frequency.

Any opinion? Also i unparked cores, disabled my AMD audio driver etc.

Also if anyone have R9 270X or 7870 here ,can you please post some fps in diffrent games.
I dont believe benchmarks that much.

I don't think the 270x is designed to play all games on maxed 60fps. The card is probably made to play on higher settings, but not all games can be played on ultra. I'm not sure how mantle will change that in the future, but as of right now, most of the newer games with better graphics are designed to be played on just higher settings, but definitely not maxed.

You can try and overclock your card to get better frames though.

I don't have experience with r9 270x, but playing BF4 on high settings with it is good enough. If you can play BF4 on ultra with this GPU, then you can pretty much play more than 90% of the games on ultra settings. So what's the point in throwing money for more expensive GPUs? :ange:

OP you have an older CPU and a midrange GPU. Im not sure why you would expect to play modern games maxxed out on it. My 7970 doesnt even max BF4 out with a 3570k. Why wouldnt you believe benchmarks? There are BF4 specific benchmarks on this very site if you do a little work and search for em, encompassing a lot of different video cards. Kinda silly to ignore them.

that card is good, but not that good. you would have to spend more if you want ultra. i have a 670, but opted to lower the settings to have consistent fps (i have a 120hz), so far my fps is 70-100+ depending on the scene. i play bf4 all the time

Running a r9 270x with an fx 6300. i get 40-60 fps on full ultra in BF4 multiplayer with occasional drops into the 30fps range depending on the map (mostly shanghai). disabling AA and using ssao instead of hbao usually resolves the sub 40fps drops. (this is at 1080p).

Yeah, benchmarks tend to exaggerate. I'm in the same boat as you; had high expectations when I upgraded from an old radeon 6850hd to a sapphire r9 270x.

I see pretty good improvements on serious sam 3 (60-70fps on ultra) and farcry 3 but honestly, on BF4 it's such a slight increase, barely noticedable. The FPS drop too much. I say I get about 35-55fps on medium with aa off.

I tried older drivers, newer ones, mantle and dx11 renderer. Not much luck. It also depends on the bf4 map as well.

I found this benchmark of the 270x to be more accurate and realistic http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2013/11/27/battlefield-4-performance-analysis/3

Yeah I just Built an 8core AMD @ 4GHZ, 4GBS of RAM @ 1600MHZ, with the same the R9 270 2GBS memory and it sceam's BF4 on Ultra without batting an eyelash. It is killer.
