[SOLVED] Did I fry my cpu or motherboard?

Hey, I was using my pc one day. So my HDD was out of my case due to I was listening after sounds from it, and it was normal. So I plug my PSU out, and plug the SATA cable from the HDD out, and then I move the HDD in and plug everything back in. Suddently when I tried to start my pc, nothing will happen, I checked all my cables. I had an extra PSU laying but it was very weak at only 350w. So I took that and it booted, but I had to underclock the CPU or it will crash.

After some months I decided to buy a 850W Plus White PSU to put in my pc, and a SSD for the system. Anyways when I plug in my PSU I try to start my pc it freezes at stock clockspeeds, so I went into bios, turned off turbo and suddently it was working. So I thought maybe the PSU is faulty, so I tested by overclocking it from 4.0GHz to 4.7GHz and 1.29v compared to 1.1v. Did it crash? Nope. But when I try to oc my ram memory, it just says OC failed. For some reason the turbo crashes the pc, and this happen after my old psu went bad, and it's the same with the ram. Could it have fried something in my motherboard or CPU?

Sounds like you just knocked a wire or some other connector. I would strip your system down to the bare minimum--one memory, cpu, motherboard and see if you can get things working normally. If so, slowly add back all your memory--then test. Then your gpu--then test. Then your hard drive--then test.

If you run into an issue in any step, that's where you need to keep working to figure it out. Worse comes worse, you can send me your cpu and I can test it for you.
