I've had my Gigabyte GTX 970 for a couple years now, it's never been very good at overclocking. I can't really seem to get any kind of stable overclock on it. All I had was +90 to the core clock along with increased voltage/power limit and it still crashed while playing WoW.

So did I just get a crappy card as far as overclocking? The temperatures are fine, the driver just crashes.

you cant say that depends on how well the factory overclock was on it as well it may of been near it threshold anyway then even if its just getting +25 that may have the boost clock pretty well up to say a lesser card that needs +75 to get that same result ??

thing is overclocking is all your own risk and nothing is guaranteed over the venders speced clock rates for that card .. what exact 970 do you have ?

you need to give more detail you may not be as bad as you think overall
