Did I get a good deal?

Ok. So I was looking through Ebay and I found a Asus N53SM-SX095V which had been barely used and is in good nick on the outside. I bagged it for £190, the seller said he had it checked out and apparently there is a "faulty IC on the motherboard" but that is it, and fixing it will restore to working order. I dont know what that means, but it costs £50 to fix.

So yeah. As it will come to about about £250 for a new LP with barely any usage apparently. How did I do?
I have never even heard of this laptop. Is it any good for gaming?

A faulty IC means that your new laptop could be dead on arrival. Personally, I would have stayed away from it for that reason.

This isn't that old. Why was this not replaced under warranty?
You have no guarantee that the repair will only be £50, or if that is the actual or only problem.

The seller won it in a competition. He has the evidence and emailed to me. That is why there is no warranty. I checked the place he brought it to, and another branch told me they would fix it for the same price. And since they apparently checked the hardware and found no problems on the thing apart from the IC, the other pieces shouldn't fail just yet.

I'm not looking for a powerhouse. I saw what I thought was a good deal and snapped it up.
