Did I just fry my motherboard?

Hello,
I recently decided to pick up pc gaming and so I bought my first pc parts I finished building my rig but I came across a problem. When I first went to undergo a power check my pc didn't turn on. I took the necessary precautions and so I unplugged the power supply and started to check what was wrong. It turned out to be that my 24 pin cable wasnt plugged in all the way. As I went to go in and plug it in all the way I saw small flickering from the mobo (I have an MSI h170m pro a) I noticed it out of peripheral vision and I stopped what I was doing and the flickering as well ended. I then saw that plugging my 24 pin cable caused this flickering. I stopped what I was doing and waited for an hour or so and began to pick up where I left off. Everything's plugged securely and installed properly, but my 2nd power check failed. No power or indications of it. Did I kill my mobo?

Doubtful this did it. The flickering you saw was probably residual power from the capacitors in the PSU briefly sending a little power to the board. Do the paper clip test on your PSU and then go through the troubleshooting steps below to make sure you haven't missed something.

Excuse me I didn't mean to -1 that, I'm still new to the site. I did. In fact find the problem! It turned out I mixed up my power sw and reset sw pin connectors up and each were in the opposite of the correct pin placement. Thank you!
