Did I just fry my pc?

Plugged everything up how it's supposed to be, turned my pc on, there was a snap and smokedstarted coming out of what looked to be the atx power area, then it turned off. I unplugged the psu and plugged it back in and turned it on with the same results. I tried another power supply suspecting my new one to be the culprit and there were similar results. I tried my new power supply in a different PC and everything worked there like normal. What's broken?

Solution
There is no way to tell if it will fail soon. I would use it as you normally would until you have evidence to the contrary. Good luck with it.

You can have the power supply tested at a PC repair shop. And you can monitor the voltages using your motherboard utility. You can also use software like hardware monitor..

Alright thanks for your great support!

The OP didn't list it. But given that it's fault protection circuit saved his bacon, I would guess that it was a decent quality unit.

I would suggest that you include more detail in your question. It was rather vague.

Seasonic is a great brand for power supplies. It is one of the brands that I most recommend.

The particular model is one that I'm not familiar with. It is an 80+ efficiency model, so it is one of their more basic units.

But like I said above . It saved your system.

And by the way , I was referring to" What power supply?" being a vague question.
