I have a r9 290 reference card and I slapped a kraken g10 with an h55 corsair liquid cooler on it and thought Id go nuts with it. I reached a steady clock speed of 1150mhz with 92c vrm temp and a low gpu temp of 58c running it on unigine valley and memory clock of 1470mhz. Test came out stable so I gave furnark a try. Gpu temps didnt exceed 63c but vrm temp was 128c by the end of a 15 minute run on furmark. No artifacts or crashes but boy that shit was a lagfest. My card seems alright but did it sustain damages reaching vrm temps that high?

Well yea. Sad thing I wasn't able to monitor vrm temps before reaching 128c in time. I'm ok with decreased lifespan if that means it will last a year or two. I'll have it upgraded by then.

as long as you keeping it below 100c you should be ok. As @Sakkura suggests, vrm heatsinks is something you should really consider if you are to continue with such high o/c!
