So, i'm a little worried lol. Just got Dell WS T7400 board + x2 XEON 5472 CPUs and 16 Gigs of Ram from ebay... (just for lolz)
So being a noob, I didn't even notice the board had two power connectors 24pin +20 pin or something like that, (never dealt with sever/ws boards before). So i tried plugging in normal PSU with single 24 pin and powered on... Obviously it did not work. (psu did make a strange noise tho, and it kept making that noise every time i tried powering it on... 3-4times)
than I noticed the second power connector and...
anyway, i already ordered the original power supply for dell WS t7400. the problem im worried if my experiment could've killed the board, cpu or rams.
any ideas?

You should be all right, if anything, I'd worry about the PSU that only had the one plug, if it tried to supply more voltage than it was capable of you could mess something up, and in that case, you could have messed the board up. The probability of the board cpu memory being ruined is pretty small though. Usually when they have multiple power connectors they've got failsafes for stuff too.
