Did I make a bad purchase?

So my old gaming desktop is about 5 years of age, being bought for my first gaming setup. The specs are below:

Intel Core i7 3770,
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 650 Ti 2GB,
8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, 600W PSU
I decided that my graphics card was getting quite dated, as pubg ran quite slow when increasing settings. I eventually bought an Asus 1060 6GB gpu.
My question is, did I go overkill on the choice? Will it have bottleneck issues with the 3rd gen i7?

Solution
No, you didn't make a bad purchase. Your CPU may be 5 years old, but it's still quite good and should still run most modern games. The GTX 1060 6GB is a good choice for modern 1080p gaming, it's not going to bottleneck your CPU.

Thanks for the reply, I've been waiting for an opportunity to upgrade my GPU for a while now. The 650 Ti cannot run triple A games nowadays and the 1060 6GB will definitely be much better.

I agree with pete_101.
The CPU is still a good processor and can work with the GTX 1060.
There is nothing to worry and enjoy your GPU!
