Hello i just got a new rig and in it is also a Samsung SSD 970 500Gb Evo NVMe m2, on a Gigabyte x470 Aorus ultra gaming mainboard.

i have connected it on M2 slot #2.
But when i run Samsung Magician i see that's only PCIe Gen 2 x 4 ?
I have installed the latest firmware version 2XBQEXE7

My score is 1810 MB/s for read and 1604 MB/s for write. This seems to me is the half what it could do from performance thats has been announced by Samsung. What did i do wrong?

Is it also possible to just switch the module from M2 socket, without losing data? Will the data be lost after disconnecting it from the Mainboard?

I am uncertain if i mounted it correct, i think i have installed the right, drivers etc...

You need to change it to the other m.2 port.

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X470-AORUS-ULTRA-GAMING-rev-10#sp
1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 SATA and PCIe 3.0 x4/x2* SSD support) (M2A_SOCKET)
* Actual bandwidth may vary by CPU.
1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280 PCIe 2.0 x4/x2 SSD support) (M2B_SOCKET)
---------------------------------------

You want it in the M2_A slot.
