Did I order the right screws for my motherboard?

I am using a Silverstone Sugo SG13B and when I tried to build in it yesterday, the screws wouldn't go in correctly and the screws got threaded/one of the standoffs in the motherboard was completely broken. I called Amazon and another one is coming in the mail on Tuesday. I want to prevent another mess up by ordering these screws for my motherboard:

Are these good for screwing in the motherboard (I'm using a mini-ITX motherboard and case)? The screws my case came with a pretty cheap so I wanted good ones. Do you guys have any tips to prevent the screws from threading, or was it just a faulty case? Thanks for any help.

Standoffs tend to be different from case to case. I would just go ahead and buy both new screws and standoffs from amazon. This way you know you get a matching set. Plus if you work with computer hardware it's always nice to have few extras.

It isn't a matter of missing parts, the screws or something else messed up the motherboard standoffs. Amazon is already sending a replacement and I am sending my current one back. I am just wondering if these screws will work instead of the Silverstone ones, because I don't want the same thing to happen again. What happened was when installing the motherboard, one of the screws would not go in all the way, and it would just stop at a certain point. I want to make sure I do it right this time.

How do I prevent crossthreading?

It is easy to confuse motherboard mounting screws with peripheral mounting screws.

When you get the replacement, test fit the motherboard mounts and no motherboard with your fingers. If they do not fit, you are likely using the wrong screws.

On final tightening, do not tighten past slightly snug. If you tighten too much, the brass standoffs may not stay screwed in to the case, making future motherboard removal very difficult.
