Hello, so basically i bought a PC from cyberpower, and i got myself a gtx 770 and an i5-4670k along with a standard 600 watt power supply. Shortly after, about everybody on this forum told me it was a horrible power supply, and some people even said it ruined some of their other components. I got really worried, so i called cyberpower and told them to switch my power supply. For an extra $30, i made the switch to a 650 Watts - Thermaltake SMART Series SP-650PCBUS 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply. Did i make a good choice? Hows the brand, or the quality of the entire PSU in general? I know nothing about power supplies other than corsair is awesome. Thank you.

It's definitely better than the default 600W PSU.

From what I can discern, the Thermaltake SMART STANDARD 650W (SP-650PCBUS) appears to be based on a modified version of the CWT PUQ (B) platform that is also used in some of the Corsair TX Series and GS Series models.

Japanese 105°C rated capacitors are used on both the primary and secondary sides of the PSU so longevity shouldn't be an issue.

Good choice. The brand is reputable, and that PSU has a few nice features that won't blow up your computer even if it does fail catastrophically.
Good decision to ask, there are a TON of no-name PSU's out there that are rated for like 1000W, but will literally explode if you pull anything over 300w from them.
