I put the BIOS file on a FAT32 USB flash drive and plugged it into the PC ... restarted ... pressed del to enter BIOS ... clicked on QFlash ... BIOS was updated ... backup BIOS was updated ... PC restarted automatically after 4 seconds...

then I got a black screen ???, removed the USB flash drive and the computer booted normally...

Both the BIOS and Windows 10's System Information say that the latest BIOS is installed and the date is also correct... . Did the BIOS install correctly ? Why did I get a black screen ?

the PC has a process when you update the BIOS and you were likely witnessing that.

I think the screen went blank after the restart because it was trying to boot from the USB drive ? because as soon as I removed the drive the system booted ?

so here is what happened:

(1) The BIOS and backup BIOS were updated successfully.
(2) The computer auto restarted.
(3) BIOS tried to boot from the USB drive.
(4) Black screen.
(5) USB drive was removed by me and the system booted normally..
