did i win the silicon lottery? 8700k

i recently completed my new build with 8700k stock speed and i got about 23-27 idle 60 degreesmax on stress test with an x62 and all stock fans from the s340 elite,stock thermal paste from x62 do you guys think i won the silicon lottery?

You might have won, you may have lost. Either way, some chips "lose the lottery" on air but perform well in water cooling.

Some do really well on air, but fail to scale clocks on liquid.

Set your 8700K to 1.40V and run 5.0 GHz clocks. If you hit that clock stable in stress testing, you won the consolation prize. Hitting 5.2 GHz on 1.4V or less is winning the lottery IMO.

What the heck man. Telling him to set the vcore to 1.4v is way out of line. I can hit 5.0ghz on my 8600k at 1.335v.

There are plenty of people out there doing 5.0ghz on 8700k with the same or less vcore.

Telling him to go straight to 1.4v is irresponsible. Always raise the vcore in tiny increments.
