Hello all, recently while gaming my gpu blasting its fans speed at maximum speed, tv goes black screen until i press reset/shutdown pc button. Now i think i might have done something bad to the gpu itself by lowering its fan speeds while gaming (fan noise too loud while gaming) the fan noise bothered me so as stupid as it sound i lowered fan speed to a max 2100-2300rpm through AMD Adrenalin software . Whilist gaming with these fan speeds ,i kept getting windows alerts warning me about gpu exceeded its tempetatures treshold limits but i ignored them. For about 3 or 4 days i kept using those settings and all went well until yesterday .The weird thing i ve noticed is that the last time this happened , i touched the gpu and i was shocked it wasn t even that hot . Another thing i did was increasing gpu clock speeds a bit also through Amd Adrenalin software but couldn t handle it and screen went all pixaleted followed by a total system crash and had to reset PC.
My specs:
Power supply :
Segotep SG-D600SCR

CPU:
Intel Core i5 4460

Motherboard:
Asus H-97 PLUS

GPU:
AMD RX 580 8Gb Armor Edition

RAM:
HyperX HX316C10FR/8 GB DDR3

Things i ve tried solving this issue:

  • Replaced gpu thermal paste
  • Reinstalled gpu driver/reseting settings to default
  • Tried different GPU pci e slot

Solution
i lowered fan speed to a max 2100-2300rpm
i kept getting windows alerts warning me about gpu exceeded its tempetatures treshold limits but i ignored them.
For about 3 or 4 days i kept using those settings and all went well until yesterday
i did was increasing gpu clock speeds a bit also
That's pretty complete list of things, not to do:
overclocking while also reducing fan speed,
ignoring overheating warnings until your gpu gets damaged/dies.
