Did my harddrive just died??

Pc wont go through windows... First issue was hdd was not being detected in bios... Tried swapping hdd bios detected the test hdd..swapped again...now hdd was detected but it stalls at starting windows

Okay... sadly it does sound like the HDD is on its last legs. If under warranty, you may be able to get another replacement under that warranty. Otherwise try for a model that is 7200RPM, SATA-III, and a buffer size of at least 64MB AND of the size(s) you desire. Hopefully you have nothing irreplaceable on it, or if you did, it was backed up.
If you were using the exact same cables when you swapped drives, it could very well be. Just to make sure, try the HDD in question in other SATA ports, and if possible in another machine to see if the problem persists. If it still fails to be seen, it sounds like a new HDD will be in order.
