I got an i3 4150 system with an ASUS 750ti twin fan.. I also have a Xonar SE sound card and 3 HDDs with an SSD.. Five 120mm RGB fans also add up to the list.. All of this is powered by a VS550.. My UPS is a V Guard Slender Plus 600 which is 600VA rated, which I think handles upto 300W.. I was planning to upgrade my UPS to an APC BR1500G which is around 865W when I upgrade my PC components to 9th gen this year.. This UPS used to handle my PC before I got a 750ti to around 8 minutes, and after that maybe 1 minute..

The Problem is while gaming if I had a power loss UPS shuts off immediatly without a warning no matter how charged the battery is.. I learnt from forums that it was due to high current transfer time my UPS suffers from.. But nowadays even if I am watching a film or just keeping my PC idle, a powerloss give me max 1 or 2 seconds, not enough to even click start button.. I am really worried about my PC components that none of the power saving features is giving me atleast 1 minute from the UPS and continuous powerloss may damage my hardware..

My question is, is the UPS really shutting down due to high current draw? Or its battery got degraded so that no amount of component stripping is going to save it from a battery replacement? If it is the former can I solve it temporarily by stripping of the RGB lights until I could get a brand new UPS?

Solution
RGB lights are the smallest power draw, removing them will have nearly 0 effect on anything.

Batteries in most UPS systems have a max service life of 5 years, if yours are anywhere near that they are shot. The battery both won't hold a charge nor will it be able to take the immediate current load.

The BR1500G is a good choice, replacement is your only option.
