Did not keep cover on when installing

Hey,
So I did not keep my cover on when installing my CPU I noticed that this was wrong when I watched this video: https://youtu.be/MyxDddDlfpc?t=142 Is this really important. Have I done anything wrong or damaged anything?

Nope, that cover is only intended to protect the socket during shipping. The place cpu and pop out thing is really only for convinience.
