I'm trying to sell an old GPU I bought some years ago and I don't use anymore. It's an XFX Radeon R7 250 (1 GB). One guy asked me whether it had a 6-pin or 8-pin connection, but I'm looking at it right now and I don't really find any input besides the graphical ones (VGA, HDMI and DVI).

Am I crazy or can this GPU not have any direct connection to the PSU (and be powered just by the motherboard)?

Solution
The pcie slot can supply up to 75w. The lower end gpus are always below that so don't require extra power cables. Some models may still have them if overclocking may push it above. Those models will require it to be plugged in to work so that is why he is asking.
