Question Did the new AMD RX 7800 XT damage my motheboard ?

I bought the Sapphire Nitro AMD RX 7800 XT and Installed it which took about 45 minutes because the included support bracket was a pain in the ass which is why it took so long. Everything boots up fine until the hangs, force reboots due to freezing started to happen after half an hour. I tried updating the drivers, removing the drivers in safe mode, then installing the drivers, installing updates, reseating the card and checking power cables, nothing worked.

I return it and reinstall the Sapphire amd 6700 XT only to see the same problems pop up. I did a system restore to a point before the install the 7800 xt, it didn't help. Tried updating the bios .0601 to the latest bios but it wouldn't install after answering yes to the all questions. Planning to buy the Z790 version because cheaper right now.

Corsair RM850x 80 Plus Gold, 850 Watts
32GB ram at 3600

Since you have been working on the guts of your system, make sure all motherboard connections are firmly attached and re-seat your memory in their slots. Same for anything you may have installed in PCIe slots.

Tired that, still happen. As least I'm getting a pcie riser cable to keep it from happen again.

The graphics card damage my motherboard because I replaced it with Z790 and having no problems after about an hour.

That card is heavy, it must have damage the pcie slot. For heavy cards nowadays, I guessing that they need to be hook up with riser cables to keep the pcie slots from getting damage.

A lot of newer boards come with reinforced slots.

Might pick up a little support stand like this for the back of it.
