Hello guys.
I would like to know what are the diferences between the i3 4340 and the i3 4350. They have the same speed but i dont know what are the diferences and the prices isnt the same so if the cheaper isnt bad i would go with it for now.

Thank you guys

Pretty much, yes. If they're the same price, or the 4350 is cheaper where you're located, I'd go with that one, naturally, but if the 4340 is the cheaper one, I'd go with that one. They should perform equally (same clock, etc etc).
Good question. The only difference between the two that I can see on the Intel site is with the Tcase value. This value is to do with the particular method Intel likes to explain temperature limits, and is based around the maximum temperature the integrated heat spreader on the CPU can be exposed to. The value for the 4350 is slightly higher than 4340, but the difference is very small, and as the chip is locked, and cannot be overclocked, is likely to be of little consequence in reality.

So in summary, just go with the cheaper of the two, they will perform identically.

Isn't the architecture essentially the same though, with the differences being just in the power delivery and thermal compound used under the heat spreader? They'd perform identically, wouldn't they? Genuine question, as I've seen some differing opinions on this.

I doubt anyone could tell the difference in real world use. It's Intel's well-known Tick-Tock refresh. This is the 'tock'. A tweak of the Haswell platform. Newegg has the 4150 on sale right now for slightly less than the 4130.

Isn't this neither a tick nor a tock though? Haswell being the last tock (new architecture), and Broadwell being the next tick (die shrink), with the Haswell refresh more like an extra step to help smooth over the delay in getting the Broadwell chips out the door. An extra, smaller tock as it were, after the main tock (I fear I'm stretching the timepiece metaphor to breaking point! 😉).

Either way, if the 4150 is cheaper right now, then it's definitely the one to get!

So in resume Intel Haswell refresh is better if i go with an OC chip like i5-K, because of temperatures right?
If the chip is locked i go with the cheaper is that right?
