There is mention in Acrobat PRO on line that you can secure documents with passwords for open only and editing. However when I look at Acrobat PRO DC, there is no mention of this. I see: Acrobat Standard DC £13.14 per month and Acrobat Pro DC £15.17 per month. No mention about security and there is no mention about the difference between them. Why two versions? Doesn't make sense.

TIA

Paul.

if question is about differneces between Pro vs Pro DC:

DC = Document Cloud

Features Pro DC has that Pro doesn't
100gb cloud storage
additional Adobe & Office 365 Integration
Different ways they handle E Signatures on documents

all other features are identical
both Acrobat Pro 2020 and Acrobat Pro DC allow you to view, create, modify, and merge PDF files. Both also integrate with popular document creation applications, like Microsoft Word and Google Docs, which means you can export or save a document as a PDF directly from that application, and you can collect and track e-signatures from anyone — regardless of whether or not they have an Adobe membership.

this shows the differences - https://blog.techsoup.org/posts/adobe-acrobat-pro-2020-vs.-adobe-acrobat-pro-dc

I assume security is the same with both. I don't find anything on it.

If question is: What is difference between Standard & Pro, see link - https://www.pcworld.com/article/397929/adobe-acrobat-standard-dc-vs-adobe-acrobat-pro-dc.html

The Document Cloud aspect is (IME) only helpful if you are in a situation where other Adobe users will be needing to see/share the same documents in a quick and ready fashion directly within the program. It allows multiple (licensed, subscribed) users to collaborate on a document.

In my own case I use Acrobat Pro DC because so far as I can tell it was the only option here in the states. I could be wrong. It runs ~$15 a month here. I uninstall the document cloud "add on" because I don't need or use it.

I only need a password protection for opening. I have heard that I don't need pro for this. I have also heard I can get a one of download (No updates )
(2020 is the current one), which is a one-time purchase only
