Hey

What's the difference between this two types motherboards?

I am willing to buy xeon 1230 V3, and it is not overclockable, so the Z87 is not an option.

Is there any difference between H87 and B87? I saw people getting the B87 aswell and some H87?

What's each of them good at?

Thanks :)

Correct. It might not always be the case since some of the motherboards I've seen mix and match different generations of ports...

From my basic understanding, B87s are stripped down versions of H87s and MAY have fewer ports or previous gen ports like USB 2.0, or VGA only. Z87s have more ports and higher end ports such as esata, PCIe 3.0, USB 3.0 and allow for CPU overclocking. This isn't set in stone but a vague explanation of how it was explained to me.

What do you mean by stripped? :/ ( sorry, not from UK )
Like less quality sata ports? Instead of 6GB/s I get 3GB/s ports or no PCI-E 3.0?

Correct. It might not always be the case since some of the motherboards I've seen mix and match different generations of ports but that's the basic idea. The general thought when choosing a motherboard is to buy one that has the ports that you feel you will be using regardless of it being a B, H or Z.
