Difference between DVI and HDMI

Hi there,

Apologies if this question has already been asked but i was unable to find it, My question is, is there a major difference between a monitor outputting from a DVI link or from a HDMI link? HDMI monitors are more expensive so are they worth the premium when it comes to gaming or is there not a noticable difference?

Also i have been looking at 22 inch monitors for my gaming rig.

HDMI outputs video and audio, DVI-D only video, but they both share many standards, there is not a difference in the video output. Take a look at wiki for details.
