What is the difference between EVGA GTX 580 and 590? I chose Hydro Copper, because I heard nothing else, but good things about water cooling. I looked at the specs of those two, and the only difference I see are CUDA cores and Memory Bandwidth. And I plan on putting the card on ASUS Crosshair V Formula, because I'm gonna use AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition. And also I plan on using, in the future, SLI, so I ask if GTX 590 that greater than GTX 580.

No it is half of the 590 but with faster memory shaders and GPU
they stuck to 580's together to make 1 card the difference being as stated above they slowed them down enough to bring down the heat the card produces and the power it needs. The 590 quite a bit faster but --can-- offer more problems.
I said "can" not does.

Ok, I think I'll go with the 580, air cooled, because I don't want any overheating and such. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the link that was really a great review and makes me wonder why anybody would buy that over a 6990

Because specs can only take you so far. The 6990 might look great on paper but actually it is about even in performance with the 590. Big difference is the 6990 fans are way too loud, my friends sounds like a lawnmower when ur sitting next to it. In comparison the 590 is whisper quiet.

DrKeiner u do understand the 590 is actually 2 580s in SLI on one card. Therefore you get almost twice the performance with the 590 vs 580 for only $150-200 more from the 580. Now both 580 and 590 are great cards, but depending on what resolution display u are using the 580 will not run some games like Metro 2033 & Crysis 2 at max graphical settings with high frame rates. If you are higher than 1080p, 3d, or multiple displays in near future go with the 590.

6990 is ahead when it comes to old games that are not GPU demanding games and you get frame rates in the high 100s to 200s. But no one cares about that high of a framerate that u will never use. Look at the GPU demanding games like Crysis 2 & Metro 2033 benchmarks. The 590 is actually ahead. Like I said both cards are about equal the both do better in different aspects, but the noise of the 6990 was the killer for me.

You should read the review instead of just writing stuff dude
