Difference between FM2 and FM2+ Processors

Hello guys!
I'm in need of some expert help again, i currently have a AMD A10-6800K APU with Radeon(tm) HD graphics (4.10 GHz) Processor and a MSI FM2-A55M-E33 motherboard. However as many of you may know this motherboard is badly designed and when my Sapphire R7 260x OC edition graphics card is installed it covers up the SATA ports on the motherboard, i have managed to get around this but using two right angled SATA data cables, but would like to change my motherboard for something that doesn't require this. I like the look of the MSI A88K-G45 Assassins creed liberation motherboard, however when i looked into the A88K motherboard it is a FM2+/FM2 socket. As i am new to the PC building game i was looking for some advice? will my current processor and heat-sink fit in this motherboard or will i have to buy a new processor and heat-sink? Any advice is Appreciated, Thanks for taking the time to read this, i know it was kind of long.

Assuming you meant the MSI A88X-G45 motherboard, the CPU Support List lists your processor, so you should be good to go.

I would also point out that your current motherboard is a Micro-ATX motherboard and the new one is an ATX motherboard. Make sure your case supports it.

You should be able to upgrade to this motherboard fine, your processor and CPU cooler will fit and work.\

EDIT: One reminder though, If you have windows 7 OEM you will need to buy a new license. Each Win 7 OEM license is tied to a motherboard, and is non transferable.

On the other hand, If you have Win. 8 OEM you should be good to go, provided that a single license is only active on one system at a time.
Just be sure to backup your files, and have activation keys for all of your licensed software on hand.

Thanks for your very quick reply! Yeh, sorry that is the motherboard that i am looking to buy. I have a Zalman Z11 case which should accommodate the motherboard nicely, Again thanks for such a speedy reply you really helped me out!
