Difference between fx-8320 and fx-8350?

Would I notice any difference between the models above when playing games like bf3, dayz and skyrim?
When rendering video would there be much difference?
When using CAD would there be much difference?

I am upgrading from an i3 2100 so I want to know is worth spend £160 on the 8350 or £120 on the 8320?

other than default clock speeds, price, and possible binning, there really isnt much of a difference.

Basically the same thing but the 8320 is slower. I would get the 8320 and OC it to 8350 speeds, but a 8350 will have more OC headroom since it's stock speeds are a bit higher than the 8320.

you would hardly notice a difference between those two models. the 8350 would be a hair quicker but you could over clock the 8320 to similar affect.

as said the 8320 is a lower clocked speed but basically if u can overclock it to the 8350 stock speed of 4ghz it'd basically be the same. The 8350 gets the higher binned chips which can stock run at the higher speeds and still overclock far, where the 8320 comes stock 3.5ghz, and when overclocked may not hit what a 8350 can. Performance wise even at stock there shouldnt be much of a difference in 500mhz. If u feel safe with overclocking and want to get 8350 performance while not spending the few dollars extra going to 4ghz shouldnt be an issue with any decent cooler that isnt the stock one lol

Hold on a min, if your upgrading from an i3 2100 then you cannot buy those AMD FX CPUs you have asked about as there not compatible with your motherboard what you need to be looking at is an i5 or i7 and in your budget i would be getting the i5 3570 non K version, but we really do need to know what your motherboard is.

I would agree, if your going to spend $160-190 on an fx cpu plus whatever am3+ board your getting, you could just get a i5 for $200-230 and reuse the board you have. A much easier solution and cheaper

So you are getting a new motherboard as well. Then the FX83xx makes sense.

I bought an FX-8320 about two weeks after release. I looked around for what OCs people were getting from the two and the differences were negligible so I went with the cheaper option.

Once I installed the 8320 I only had to tighten up the load line calibration and bump the voltage a notch for complete stability at 4.4GHz. It has been running Folding@Home at 100% usage ever since without any problems.

TL;DR If you are going to OC anyway there is not a compelling reason to spend the extra cash for the 8350.

If you're going to OC it...buy the 8320 and save some money, spend it on an upgraded cooling system like a CM 212 EVO or something along those lines.

Buying a cooler that will allow it to overclock, will end up costing the same as the 8350 so just buy the 8350 and then later you will still have the choice to overclock it more than the 8320 can hit.

Thanks for the response mate, Unfortunately a tad late as I bought the 8320 back in march!
Fantastic chip but the only negatives are that the system does feel like it runs as smooth as when I used intel and on a few games the performance is lower than when I used an i3 2100! Exept for those it is a sweet chip when multiple cores work together!
