Difference between Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 6/7?

Hey everyone,

Just wondering what are the difference between the GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-Gaming 6 and the GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 and if the Gaming 7 is worth getting over the 6 if I can get the Gaming 6 for about $50 cheaper?

I'm trying to future proof my build as much as I can so if the Gaming 7 is worth it in the long run I'm fine with that.

Not really worth it. And they are both overpriced. Tell us your build. There may be better "futureproofing" to be done by downgrading the MB and putting the money towards other parts. Do you intend to Overclock and/or SLI at some point?

Dont buy a 970 these days. Bad idea. Wait until the end of the month and get the RX 480 coming out for $200 US with close to GTX 980 level performance.

Also, that PSU was overkill.

Asus is a better MB brand. No "gaming" cheap thrills on this one. Just better components.

I've updated the build's PSU to account for SLI/CF.
